New Year, Better YOU.

It’s been a while.

The past few months, the end of 2019… Well it was a wild, exciting ride.

And while 2019 brought some big changes and much to be thankful for, like many it still had its challenges.

Almost every year around this time we see the posts. I’ve posted them myself…

{New Year, New Me}

We’ve set the countless goals & started the lists of what’s going to change with the drop of the ball and turn of the clock.

And while that’s all grand, I mean goals and lists are great. They can hold us accountable usually.

We shouldn’t be defined by them. We shouldn’t feel like failures because within a few short weeks we are back to ourselves, when ultimately there is nothing wrong with US.

To say “New Year New Me” is that really the right phrase?

In doing that what are we really saying? That the old me wasn’t good enough? Does it imply who we currently are is inadequate for those around us and we need to become a new person? Sort of.

What about {New Year, Better Me}.

Let’s embrace who we are, flaws and all, and use our god given strengths and abilities for the good. Maybe we just need to reflect on ourselves as we move into the New Year. Take our best qualities and think of ways they can be used for the good without trying to become someone else. Get a little uncomfortable. That’s ok too.

Take care of yourself. Do things that bring you joy. Surround yourself by people who will cheer for you and make you feel good about yourself. And allow time to celebrate YOU, your accomplishments no matter how big or small.

Change IS possible without losing who you are and becoming someone else. We are all a work in progress, imperfect, yet perfect in our own way.

Here’s to 2020… New Year, Better Me!

>>Starting with posed pictures {in the rain} that make me uncomfortable 🙂
